Scott Wilkins Obituary

Scott Thomas Allington Wilkins, 55, of Elmira, NY passed away on Friday, September 27, 2019 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Peggy J. (Williamson) Wilkins. The couple married April 16, 1992 and had 27 happy years together.

Scott was born on July 13, 1964 in Wellsboro, PA, son of the late Verne B. and Barbara E. (Allington) Wilkins.  He was very talented and enjoyed wood carving, furniture building, and drawing. Scott had a passion for music; he wrote songs and music and played in bands like Scumm and Just Us. He loved watching movies and was an “armature critic” of them. Scott had the gift of gab about any topic and no one could sway his opinion on things.

Scott is survived by his wife Peggy, his son Shadow (Michelle) Wilkins of Elmira, his grandchildren: Alexa, Carina, William, and Parker, his brother Verne Harold (Brenda) Wilkins of Elmira, his sisters Cora (John) Koellner of Elmira and Tawnya (Rich) Elston of Waverly, NY, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother John F. McCollum Wilkins.

The memorial service to honor Scott’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at the Elston’s home 271 Strops Road, Waverly, NY 14892 with his best friend Anthony Spencer officiating. The Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. 279 Main Street Wellsburg, NY has been entrusted with the arrangements.
