Claire A. (Musto) Rosekrans, 75, of Lowman, NY passed away after a short battle with cancer on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at her home.  She was the wife of the late Warren S. “Rosey” Rosekrans who passed away on November 23, 2010.  The couple married August 22, 1958 and had 52 years together.

Claire was born on June 2, 1942 in Elkland, PA, daughter of the late Clinton and Elizabeth (Rarrick) Musto.  She worked for P&C Grocery in the Deli and was a cashier. She was a member of the Ridgebury Sportsman Club, the Elmira Heights VFW Post #6083 Ladies Auxiliary.  She helped with the VFW’s chicken barbeques where everyone loved her macaroni salad. Claire enjoyed watching and feeding birds and the time she spent boating with Rosey.  She was known as a spitfire with spunk, could be called a bit stubborn, was strong and independent, and lived life her own way.  Claire was blessed with many friends.

Claire is survived by her daughter Valerie Caward of Ithaca, NY, her grandsons Sam and Max Caward, her brother-in-law Keith Rosekrans, and several nieces and nephews including special niece Robin Rosekrans.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Rosey, and several siblings including her brother Larry Musto.

Family and friends are welcome to call from 1:00 pm-2:00 pm on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. 279 Main Street Wellsburg, NY for a time of remembrance and sharing. 

Memorial contributions may be made in Claire’s memory to the charity of one’s own choosing.
