Earl B. (Red) Robinson, Jr. Born September 14, 1941 of Crane Road passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 after a long battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his parents, Earl & Laura Robinson, Sr., sisters, Jeanette Robinson, Leila (Burton) Crompton, Pearl (Russell) Stout, beloved grandson Jason Christopher Robinson McClure.
Red is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Linda A. Robinson, his children, Edgar (Ellen) Robinson, Deborah McClure, Sharon Zywicki, Earl B. Robinson III, Daniel (Petra) Cornell, grandchildren, Christynna (Rob) McClure, Eric Robinson, Richell (Cliff) Wells, Sarah (Phil) Zywicki, great-grandchildren, Dominic and Izzabella Myers, Brooklynn Sweet, Brandalyn Zywicki-Johnson, Jaxon Lepere, his mother-in-law, Lillian Newell, a brother, Elmer (Sheryl) Robinson, a sister, Mary (Tyler) Grover, several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.
Red was involved with the East Hill Fire Department. He was a volunteer firefighter, and Past Chief of the Department and was an EMT for many years. Red was a retired electrician from the IBEW Local 139 following 35 years of service. He also worked for Corning Inc. for several years.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, being out in the woods hunting and spending time at the cabin. He took special pride in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was always there for them. He was the jack of all trades from working on cars, building homes, he could do it all. He spent countless hours putting puzzles together and framing them for everyone in the family. He loved 4 wheeling with the grand kids, taking them swimming and going on vacations.
Per Red’s request there will be no calling hours. There will be a celebration of life at the East Hill Volunteer Fire Department, 266 Jerusalem Hill Road, Elmira, NY 14901 on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 3:00 PM. All are invited to join the family celebrating a life cut too short. The family also requests no flowers. Donations may be made to help defray the cost of the overwhelming medical bills that the family have incurred during his fight.
