Hazel G. (Jackson) Chomenko, 90, of Lowman, NY passed away in her sleep peacefully on Saturday December 23, 2017 at Elderwood of Waverly.  She was the loving wife of the late Maynard Chomenko who passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2015.  The couple married July 9, 1950 and had 65 happy years together.

Hazel was born in August of 1927 in Ogdensburg, PA, daughter of the late H. Tracy and Viola (Gruver) Jackson.  She was a homemaker and farm wife who raised four beautiful children.  Hazel was a member of the North Chemung United Methodist Church and the North Chemung Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. 

Hazel is survived by her children: John Chomenko, Valerie Chomenko, Dane Chomenko, and Clinton Chomenko, five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, brothers Galen and Norman Jackson, along with many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Maynard, her sisters Dorothy, Claire, Gladys, Marjorie, and brother George.

Family and friends are welcome to call from 11:00 am-1:00 pm on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. 279 Main Street Wellsburg, NY.  The funeral service to honor Hazel’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 30th at the funeral home with Rev. Kathy Dye officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
