Josephine F. (Shepro) Picard

Josephine F. (Shepro) Picard, 93, of Chemung, NY passed away on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Elderwood in Waverly, NY.  She was the loving wife of the late Francis J. Picard who passed away on April 29, 2005. The couple married September 29, 1946 and had 58 happy years together. 

Josephine was born on November 14, 1924 in Vails Gate, NY, daughter of the late Larry and Elizabeth (Kusman) Shepro.  She was employed by the Temple Hill Academy in New Windsor, NY as a Matron in the Health Office.  Josephine was an accomplished artist who loved to paint and won many awards for her works of art.

Josephine is survived by her son Stephen (Mary) Picard of Chemung, her granddaughters Jennifer (David) Mente of Chemung and Lisa Picard of Vestal, NY, her great grandchildren KK and Callan Mente, her sister Frances Rhodes of Newburgh, NY, and her brother John Shepro of Jacksonville, FL, along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her parents, her husband Francis, her grandson Stephen Picard, her great grandson Cameron Mente, along with several siblings.

Services are private and are at the convenience of Josephine’s family.  The Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. 279 Main Street Wellsburg, NY has been trusted with the arrangements.
