Adelle M. Ackerman

Adelle M. Ackerman, 56, died on November 21, 2023 at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA after a brief, but courageous, battle with cancer.

Born on December 13, 1966 in Elmira, NY, Adelle was the daughter of Ralph Porch and Evelyn M. Ackerman. She was a very private person, and a “country girl” at heart. Adelle loved music, plants, bears, baskets, gardening and drawing. A very talented artist, she especially loved to draw flowers. For several years Adelle worked at Bradley on Maple Avenue in Elmira, a job she thoroughly enjoyed.

In addition to her Parents Adelle was predeceased by the love of her life, Gary L. Smith. The loss of Gary, in 2015, was something Adelle never really recovered from.

Adelle is survived by her son, Justin Hoose, her brother, Daniel Benton, her Uncle and Aunt, George and Sandy Ackerman, several Cousins, Nieces and a Nephew.

Per Adelle’s request there will be no calling hours or funeral. A graveside committal service will take place in the Spring at Ashland Cemetery, Wellsburg, NY. The Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. Wellsburg, NY has been entrusted with the arrangements.
