Alan J. Scholtisek, Age 56, of Carpenter Street, Elmira, passed away Friday, March 11, 2016 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Alan was born October 5, 1959 son of Patricia (Freeman) Smith and the late Augustine Scholtisek. He was a graduate of Elmira Free Academy and was formerly employed at G.E. Rail Car in Sayre. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing and playing horseshoes.
Survivors include his wife Shirley Scholtisek of Lowman, his mother Patricia Smith of Elmira, daughters, Amanda (Matthew)VanHorn of Lowman, Ann (Jareth) Conklin of Elmira, brother, Richard (Kathy) Scholtisek of Horseheads, sister, Diane (Mike) Eckman of Millerton, PA, five grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial gathering to honor Alan’s life will be held Saturday, March 19, 2016 from 4 to 7 PM at the Baldwin Community Center, Breesport North Chemung Road, Lowman, NY.
