Bernadette (Mccormick) Roberts

Bernadette Roberts passed away peacefully on April 16, 2025, at Bethany Manor in Horseheads, NY, just two days shy of her 102nd birthday. Born on April 18, 1923, in Towanda, PA, Bernadette lived a long and fulfilling life surrounded by the love of her family and friends.

Bernadette dedicated many years of her life to her work as a custodian for the Elmira City School District, was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and followed the Episcopal tradition.

Bernadette is survived by her son, Fran (Joanne) Daugherty; stepchildren, Michael Roberts and Kathy (David) Pierson; grandchildren, Bob Daughtery, Melissa Daughtery, Shawn Pierson, and Cory Pierson; great-grandchildren, Taylor (James) Rice and Logan Pierson, along with their mother, Patti Pierson; and five great-great-grandchildren. Bernadette is also remembered by numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her loving husband, Douglas F. Roberts, who departed on December 2, 2009, Bernadette is also reunited with her parents, Morris and Helen (Garris) McCormick; her brother, Donald McCormick; sisters, Mary Jane and Catherine McCormick; and her stepsons, Alfred and Paul Howard.

A graveside service to honor Bernadette's remarkable life will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Riverside Cemetery in Lowman, NY, officiated by Pastor Faith Bogdan. The Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. Wellsburg, NY has been entrusted with the arrangements.
