Charles H. “Butch” Campbell, 69, of Wellsburg, NY, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA.
Butch was born on June 6, 1946 in Ralston, PA, son of the late Elmer and Marjorie (Letteer) Campbell. He was a graduate of Southside High School, Class of 1965. Butch worked as Chief Lineman for NYSEG and his hobby was helping others. Butch was a volunteer fireman for the Wellsburg Fire Department, enjoyed working on friends cars, and was a part of the Wellsburg Diner family.
Butch is survived by his children: Tina M. Campbell of Elmira, NY, Marjorie A. (Richard) Silvestri of Gillett, PA, and Michael C. (Mary Brink) Campbell of Horseheads, NY, five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, his girlfriend Cheryl Drew of Horseheads, NY, his brother Lester “Jim” (Wilma) Campbell of Wellsburg, NY, and his sister Gertie (Merle) Kingsley of East Smithfield, PA, along with several nieces, nephews and many friends. He is also survived by his canine companion Reggie. Butch was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Pauline Robinson.
Family and friends are welcome to call from 2:00-4:00 PM on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. 279 Main St. Wellsburg, NY. The memorial service to honor Butch’s life will be held at the conclusion of the visitation at 4:00 PM on Saturday, October 3rd at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked memorial contributions may be made in Butch’s memory to the Chemung County SPCA 2435 NY-352 Elmira, NY 14903 or to the Athens Animal Hospital 475 Riverside Drive Athens, PA 18810.
