Donna Marie (Snyder) Carolin

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Donna Marie (Snyder) Carolin, age 80, of Chemung, passed away peacefully at home on June 5, 2025, surrounded by her family.

The daughter of George and Mary Snyder, she was born on November 17, 1944, in Syracuse, NY. She graduated from Most Holy Rosary High School and was employed for many years as an operator at Bell Telephone Company. She was later a bookkeeper for C&C General Merchandise, Big Horn General Store, Big Horn Auto Sales, and Big Horn Fasteners and Supply, businesses she co-owned with her husband, Edward A. Carolin, for more than 50 years.

Donna was a devoted parishioner at St. John The Evangelist in South Waverley, PA. She was a member of the Rosary Society and Pro-Life group, helped with the parish finances, and often visited with elderly parishioners.

Donna was one of the kindest and most caring people you could ever meet. She always put others first, dedicating her time and resources to anyone in need. She had a friendly, easy-going spirit and a strong zest for life. She was always up for an adventure, enjoyed traveling and loved her family fiercely.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Edward Carolin, of Chemung, two daughters: Keri (Scott) Mullen, of Sayre, PA and Kelly (James) Marsicano, of Dumont, N.J., six grandchildren: Bradley Sampson, Justess (Andrew) Vanderpool, Amanda Sampson, Alex Mullen, Casey Marsicano, and Riley Marsicano, five great-grandchildren: Timothy Hoyt, Payten Hoyt, Andrew Vanderpool, Jr., Lainie Vanderpool, and Dolores Hopson, two sisters: Joann Rendino and Mary Kalil, and many nieces and nephews.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, brothers George Snyder, Donald Snyder, John “Jack” Snyder, sisters Ann Renaud and Arlene Crowe, and her great-grandchild Lakelyn Vanderpool.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at the Church of the Epiphany, 304 S Elmer Ave., Sayre, PA 18840, on June 10, 2025, beginning at 10AM. Burial and committal will be at 1:30pm in  St. Mary’s Cemetery in Syracuse, NY.

The family requests that those who wish to express sympathy consider donating to the Alzheimer’s Association and/or the Pro-Life Movement.

The Carolin family has entrusted Donna’s services to Robert’s Funeral Home, Inc., Wellsburg, NY
