Eleanor A. (Cernohorsky) Shaw, 78 of Elmira, NY, passed away on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. Eleanor was born on April 27, 1938 in Elmira, daughter of the late Joseph and Eleanor (Haven) Cernohorsky. She worked as a machinist for Harding Brothers in Elmira Heights until her retirement in 2003. She enjoyed crafting, building doll houses and models, and putting puzzles together.
Eleanor is survived by her daughters Vickie Bostian and Tina Vega, her grandchildren: Michael, Matthew, Joseph, and Nicholas, her great grandchildren Deklyn and Matthew, her sister Joan Sullivan, and her nephew Patrick. Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents and her son William Shaw.
Family and friends are welcome to gather for the graveside service to honor Eleanor’s life at 1:30 pm on Monday, March 6, 2017 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park 563 Jerusalem Hill Road, Elmira, NY. The Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. 279 Main Street Wellsburg, NY has been entrusted with the arrangements.
