Ernest Zimmer, Jr

Ernest “Ernie” Zimmer Jr., 67, of Gillett, PA, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025, at Bradford Hills Manor.

Born on March 20, 1958, in Elmira, NY, Ernie was the son of the late Ernest Zimmer Sr. and Joan (Murdoch) Zimmer. On June 21, 1986, he married the love of his life, Marie J. (Steil) Zimmer, and together they built a life full of love, laughter, and family.

Ernie was a hardworking and determined man who spent most of his life managing mobile home parks and running his own business. He took pride in doing things his own way and had a strong sense of responsibility and loyalty to those he cared about.

Outside of work, Ernie had a deep curiosity about the world. He loved learning about clouds and astronomy and could often be found sharing what he discovered or gazing at the sky with a sense of wonder. He enjoyed the simple things in life — time with his family, good conversation, and a quiet evening at home.

Ernie’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his daughters, Joelle (Joe) Hamel, Tiffany Bloss, and Stephanie Zimmer; his sons, Jeremy Zimmer and Brian (Tiffany Barton) Zimmer; and his beloved grandchildren, Owen Bloss, Alexis Zimmer, Jordyn Barton, and Abigail (Abby) Zimmer, as well as many close family and friends, all of whom brought endless pride and happiness to his life.

The family wishes to acknowledge Frank and Jackie Dickerson, Ernie’s close friend who helped Ernie and the family any way that they could.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Marie, and his parents.

In keeping with Ernie’s wishes, there will be no funeral services. His family takes comfort in knowing he is now reunited with Marie and at peace.

Ernie will be deeply missed, but his love, strength, and laughter will live on through those who knew him best.
