Everett A. Shock, 89, of Wellsburg, passed away on January 4, 2025 at his residence with his wife Elsie by his side. He was born on February 20, 1935 in Brownsville, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Alfred and Mildred (Redmond) Shock. Everett worked for General Electric as a young man and worked for many years at Thatcher Glass Works on the hot end, Tanner Building Company, Loveless Landscaping and was employed for many years with the New York State Highway Department and Chemung County Parks & Recreation at Park Station and Sullivan Monument in Elmira, NY. Everett was a member of Labors Local #785. He was a devout Christian and was a member of Bentley Creek Wesleyan Church. Everett had many special pastors at the church he especially enjoyed going on visitations with Pastor Kelvin Jones with wife JoAnn whom they spent many times with eating ice cream at Friendly’s. Everett also loved spending time with his family, fishing, camping, and rebuilding VW Beetles.
Everett is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Elsie (Plate) Shock, daughter Nancy (Jerry) Keisler, sons: Michael (Linda) Shock and Kenneth “Ken” Shock, Sr., nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren, sisters-in-law Blanche Shock and Theresa Shock, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Everett was preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Mildred (Redmond) Shock, son William “Bill” Shock, brothers: Arthur (Lorraine) Shock, Leonard (Barbara) Shock, Roger (Cathy) Shock, Robert “Boe” Shock, David Shock, and sister Darlene (William) Smith.
Family and friends are welcome to call from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM on Friday, January 24, 2025 at the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc., 279 Main St., Wellsburg, NY, 14894. The memorial service will be held after the visitation at 12:00 PM at the funeral home with his pastor, Rev. Robert Wuethrich officiating. Burial will follow the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Elmira.
