Gayle Ann (Davies) Blanchard

Gayle Ann (Davies) Blanchard, a cherished mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2025, in Elmira, NY. She was 83 years old. Born on September 17, 1941, in Washington DC, Gayle lived a life marked by her dedication to family, faith, and compassionate care for others.

Gayle devoted much of her professional life to serving others as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Bethany Village in Horseheads, NY, and the Chemung County Nursing Facility. Her gentle touch and warm smile left a lasting impact on all who were fortunate enough to be in her care.

Family was the cornerstone of Gayle’s life. She delighted in spending time with her loved ones, creating memories filled with laughter and love. She is survived by her beloved daughters: Debra Blanchard of Florida, Barb (Robert) Mattison of Pine City, NY, Robin Andrews of Elmira, NY, and Tammy (Charles) Little of Elmira, NY. Gayle was also the proud grandmother of 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and pride.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Elpha (Collum) Davies; her husband, Robert E. Blanchard; several siblings; a granddaughter Shirley Ann Mattison and grandson Robert Mattison, Jr. Their memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved them.

Private services will be held at the convenience of Gayle's family. The Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. Wellsburg, NY has been entrusted with the arrangements.
