Gerald M. Tillotson

Gerald "Gerry" M. Tillotson, 82, of Lowman, passed away on June 13, 2024 at the Robert Packer Hospital. Born on March 25,1942 in Elmira, NY, he was the son of Morrell and Helen (Myslivecek) Tillotson. He was a graduate of Southside High School. On March 30,1962 he married the love of his life, Doris Becraft in Elmira, NY at the Emanual Episcopal Church. Gerry was a lifetime farmer.  He worked at his family dairy farm until 1989.  After retiring from dairy farming, he went into raising beef cattle.

Farming was a very big part of his life.  Gerry also retired from the Chemung County Highway Department as an Equipment Operator. Gerry was the founder and president of the Lowman Little League. He also held a supervisor's position and was a councilman for the Town of Baldwin. Gerry loved to hunt, fish and go on cruises with his wife Doris. He is survived by his wife Doris, daughter Christina (Cass) Doane, of Chemung, two sons: Paul (Ana) Tillotson, of Baldwin, and Christopher (Lynn) Tillotson, of Saco, Maine, three granddaughters: Jessica (Bryan) Pelachick, of Chemung, Grace and Faith Tillotson, of Saco, Maine. Gerry was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Arlene Barhite, Karen Tillotson, and Jack Tillotson. Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Thursday June 20,2024, from 4-6PM at the Robert's Funeral Home, Inc., 279 Main St., Wellsburg, NY 14894 with a memorial service to follow at 6PM. Pastor Art Evans will be officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at their family cemetery.
