Greta Lila (Clark) Elston
November 24, 1942 — April 15, 2017
Greta Lila (Clark) Elston, 74, of Chemung, NY, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of Wilson E. Elston. The couple married August 26, 1961 and had 55 happy years together.
Greta was born on November 24, 1942 in the Town of Barton, NY, daughter of the late Kenneth and Virginia (Balmer) Clark. She was a graduate of Waverly High School and worked as an Inspector for Anchor Glass. Greta was a member of the Waverly United Methodist Church, and was lively and full of fun.
Greta is survived by her husband Wilson, her sons: Douglas (Marcy) Elston of Sayre, PA and Richard (Tawny) Elston of Waverly, NY, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, her siblings: Glenda Brown, Gary Clark, Gwen Raymond, and Kenny Clark, several nieces and nephews, and special friend Edith Robbins. Greta was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Gail Clark.
Family and friends are welcome to gather from 10:00 am-12:00 pm on Friday, April 21, 2017 at Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. 279 Main Street Wellsburg, NY. The funeral service to honor Greta’s life will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, April 21st at the funeral home with Rev. Anne Canfield officiating. Burial will follow in Chemung Cemetery.
