Keith Edson Douglas, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2026, in Sayre, Pennsylvania, at the age of 81. Born on March 15, 1945, in Elmira, New York, Keith lived a life full of warmth, laughter, and kindness, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Keith dedicated many years of his professional life as a skilled machinist at Courser, Inc. in Horseheads, NY, where his craftsmanship and dedication were deeply valued. His love for the outdoors was evident in his passions for camping, hiking, and swimming, activities that brought him joy and serenity throughout his life. An avid refinisher, Keith found pleasure in restoring furniture, transforming the old into something beautiful and new.
His sense of humor was legendary, and he delighted in sharing practical jokes with friends and family. A lover of games and trivia, Keith enjoyed spending time engaged in friendly competition. He was also an enthusiastic viewer of movies and the Discovery Channel, always eager to learn and explore.
A devoted caretaker, Keith raised chickens and Guinea Fowl and tended to large gardens, nurturing both plants and animals with a gentle hand. His deep affection for children and animals was evident to all who observed his interactions with them.
Keith was a man of faith and community, attending St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Elmira and contributing to various organizations, including the JC's, the American Legion, and the Ashland Historical Society. He proudly served his country as a United States Army veteran, embodying the values of duty and honor.
Preceded in death by his father Kenneth Douglas, mother Marsha (Daggett) Douglas Day, brother Kenneth Douglas, and niece Kimberly Douglas, Keith's memory will be cherished by those who survive him. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Becky "Me Beck" Douglas; his devoted son, Kenneth Douglas of Elmira; and his treasured grandchildren, Finn Douglas and Wyatt Douglas. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Jennifer "Turk" (Chuck) Heffner of Columbia, MD, and nieces Samantha Heffner, Sarah Heffner, Marcia Douglas King, and Laura Douglas Six, along with several close friends who considered him family.
A service to celebrate Keith's life and memory will be held at a later date.
Roberts Funeral Home, Inc., 279 Main St., Wellsburg, NY has been entrusted with the arrangements.
