Laura M. (Lamb) Allen, Age 85, formerly of Main Street, Wellsburg, NY passed away Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Elderwood of Waverly. Laura was born October 5, 1931 in Canton, PA daughter of the late Ellery and Marion (Smith) Lamb. She was married to the late Philip D. Allen, Sr. and was a nurse’s aide at Lambs Convalescent Adult Care Home in Elmira prior to retirement. In her spare time Laura could be found gardening and working with her flowers. She enjoyed wildlife and spending time with her loving family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who she adored.
Surviving are a daughter Cindy Phillips and her companion Chuck Aumick of Pine City, daughter-in-law, Cynthia Allen of Hallstead, PA, former son-in-law, Lawrence Phillips, five grandchildren, Tricia (Harold) Schiefen, Amber Phillips, Megan (James) Chang, Asa (Lynda) Allen, Christian Allen, great-grandchildren, Alyssa Schiefen (Jesse Pfuntner), Alexis Pearson, Avery Pearson, Aria Allen, Madeleine Chang, Dean Chang, two sisters-in-law, Wanda Lamb of Elmira, Neva Fisk of Sayre, PA, a sister Donna of Baltimore, MD and many friends.
Laura was predeceased by her parents, husband Philip D. Allen, Sr., her son Philip (Skip) Allen, Jr., grandson Daniel Ellery Phillips and a brother Dean Lamb.
Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, March 12, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. 279 Main Street, Wellsburg, NY. Laura’s funeral and committal service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 4:00 PM with Mr. David Yale officiating. Interment will be in Ashland Cemetery, Wellsburg, NY.
