Lester E. "Jim" Campbell

Lester E. “Jim” Campbell age 83 of Wellsburg New York passed away on January 6, 2025 at Elderwood Nursing Facility. Lester was born in Williamsport PA and graduated from Southside High School in Elmira. He retired from Sheet Metal Workers local #112 at Collins & Walton Plumbing and Heating. He was a body and fender man and owned Les Campbell Auto Sales as a side job. Lester was a life member of the Wellsburg Fire Department where he was a first responder, then an EMT. After retiring he worked for Erway Ambulance as an EMT and paramedic with partner and friend Dave Repsher. He also was an instructor with STREMS. He served on the village board of trustees and volunteered with the Wellsburg Ashland food cupboard.

Jim is survived by his high school sweetheart Wilma Campbell, and they had 65 years together. Also surviving are his children Jim and Jane, Bill, Cheri Saylor and Jerry and Corine Cowles, a sister Gertie Kingsley and 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Lester was predeceased by his parents Elmer and Marjorie and his brother Butch and Sister Polly.

Per Jim’s wishes there will be no services, the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. Wellsburg, NY has been entrusted with the arrangements.
