Louis C. Turner

September 9, 1940 — December 20, 2025

Lowman, NY

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Louis C. "Lou" Turner, who left this world peacefully on December 20, 2025, at the age of 85, in Lowman, NY. Lou was born on September 9, 1940, in Brockton, MA, to loving parents Louis Turner and Betha Fuller, both of whom preceded him in death.

A man of dedication and hard work, Lou served proudly as a veteran of the United States Navy. After his service, he built a career working as a maintenance man at various hotels and motels across Texas, where he was known for his steadfast work ethic and reliable nature.

Lou was an individual of diverse interests and passions. An avid bowler, he participated in two or three different bowling leagues, always cherishing the camaraderie and competition. He had a voracious love for literature, frequently immersing himself in books. Westerns held a special place in his heart, and he spent many hours enjoying classic westerns on television. A man with a profound appreciation for music, Lou often found joy in listening to classic country and western tunes.

He was a devout Christian by faith and remained active in his church community whenever possible, offering his time and wisdom generously.

Lou is preceded in death by his first wife, Joann Turner, and his beloved daughter, Brenda Barto. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his surviving family: his dear wife, Amy (Park) Turner of Spencer, NY; his daughter, Kathie (Steven) Cranmer of Lowman, NY; his son, Mark (Trish) Turner of Gun Barrel, TX; four cherished grandchildren; and several great and great-great-grandchildren. He shared a particularly special bond with his great-great-grandson, Everett Myers.

A memorial gathering to honor Lou's life will be held from 2:00-3:00 PM on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Roberts Funeral Home, Inc., located at 279 Main St., Wellsburg, NY 14894. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's own choosing, reflecting Lou's generous spirit and lifelong commitment to helping others.

Though Lou has departed from this earthly life, he leaves behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and love that will continue to inspire and nurture those who were fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in eternal peace.
