Lule C. (Giaffo) West

February 26, 1939 — June 26, 2022

Lule Chameria Giaffo West, of Gillett, PA and formerly of Clarksville, TN passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2022, at the Bradford County Manor. She was born February 26, 1939, in Hartford, CT, daughter of the late Kasim & Ilfan (Mufti) Giaffo. Following graduation from high school she attended Connecticut College. Lule was married to the late John West. Prior to retirement she was employed by the US Postal Service in West Hartford, CT. Post retirement, Lule was a crossing guard for eleven years for the City of Clarksville, a job she absolutely loved. Lule enjoyed politics, astronomy and physics. She was a gifted and beautiful woman who will be greatly missed by her many friends and family.

Survivors include a son, John Fizel of Las Vegas, NV, Daughter Kimberly Lamb and grandson Christopher Lamb both of Plover, WI, a sister Vera (John) Cosgrove of Easton, PA, brother Chufi Giaffo of Gillett, PA, Ahmet (Amparo) Giaffo of Pismo Beach CA, niece, Emily MacDonald, nephews Jason Giaffo, John Andrew (Shannon) Cosgrove and  Karl (Sylvia) Dion, as well as many cousins. Lule was predeceased by her parents, her husband John, daughter Christa, brother Lou, sister-in-law Karen, and special friend Lyman “Jack” Jackson.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. 279 Main Street, Wellsburg, NY 14894 and will be announced at a later date. Memorials in Lule’s name are directed to the Bradford County Humane Society, Route 220, Ulster, PA 18850.

The family would like to thank Jason, Vera Sheri, Karl & Sylvia and most especially her brother Chufi for their love and care for Lule during this last illness.
