Marie J. (Steil) Zimmer

Marie Jeanne (Steil) Zimmer, 67, of Gillett,PA, passed away on July 3, 2025 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA.

Born on May, 17, 1958, in Elmira, she was the daughter of Theodore and Jeanne (Ditolla) Steil, Jr.

On June 21, 1986, Marie married Ernest Zimmer who survives.

She was a dedicated teacher for several decades within the Bradford-Tioga Headstart system. Marie devoted her life to the development of young children, fostering growth and empowerment of families as a whole unit.

Marie had an exhaustive collection of oil lamps, harnessed a love for birds, and enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her husband Ernie, daughters: Joelle (Joe) Hamel, Tiffany Bloss, and Stephanie Zimmer, sons: Jeremy Zimmer and Brian (Tiffany Butcher) Zimmer. Grandchildren: Owen Bloss, Alexis Zimmer, Jordyn Barton, and Abigail Zimmer, sisters: Suzanne (Gene) VanWicklen and Kathleen Michaels, and brothers: William (Debbie) Steil and Michael (Polly) Steil.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents and brother Theodore Steil III.

Keeping with Marie’s wishes there will be no service at this time.

Marie’s family has entrusted the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. with her arrangements.
