Marilyn MacKenzie Waterman, most recently of the St. Ann’s Community in Rochester, New York died peacefully surrounded by loving family, on the thirteenth of November, at the age of 90.
Marilyn, daughter of the late Dan and Marjorie Stanton MacKenzie was born and raised in the Southern Tier of New York state. She was wife to the late Donald B. Waterman, living their early years in Wellsburg, New York. They relocated and spent the majority of their married life (59 years) in Hornell, New York. Marilyn and her husband were active members at the 1st Baptist Church of Hornell, enjoyed travel through the United States and Canada, and most importantly loved time spent with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marilyn will be remembered for her generous heart, empathy, wit, and especially her love and devotion to family.
Marilyn is survived by her three daughters, Susan Wilson of Florida, Diana (Robert) Miller of Rochester, New York, and Melody (Neal) Fritz of Connecticut, along with nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and four great, great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Doris E. Miller of Rochester, New York, her sister-in-law Barbara MacKenzie of Binghamton, NY and brothers-in-law Wayne Bement of Florida and Gordon Brown of Indiana.
In addition to her parents and husband, Marilyn was predeceased by sisters, Virginia Brown, Donna Bement and a brother, Rev. Donald MacKenzie.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at the Roberts Funeral Home 279 Main Street Wellsburg, New York, with Rev. Cedric Cooper from the 1st Baptist Church of Hornell officiating. Burial will follow in Ashland Cemetery in Wellsburg.
