Matt Bogdan

Matt Bogdan, of Barton, NY, went to be with the Lord on August 13, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on March 15, 1935, in White Pine, Montana, he was the son of William and Anna (Jasso) Bogdan. After high school, Matt enlisted in the United States Army, receiving an honorable discharge for his service from 1954 to 1957. Matt and Joanne K. Korkowicz were married on October 15, 1960, in Buffalo, NY, at the St. Casimir Church. Matt was an electronic technician for IBM for over twenty years. He enjoyed reading his Bible, hunting, canning, and smoking hams; he was a passionate gardener, famous for the sweet corn he grew, which he shared with many people over the years. He was known for his generosity. Matt is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joanne, of Barton, NY; Michael (Guadalupe) Bogdan, of Huntington Beach, CA; David (Faith) Bogdan, of Gillett, PA; daughter Becky Bogdan (Howard Anglin), of Ocoee, FL; and Jeffrey (Paula) Bogdan, of Girdwood, AK. Matt is also survived by eight grandchildren: Chloe, Anna, Sarah, Rebecca, Ruth, Samuel, Eli, and Zachary; William and Tom Bogdan, brothers; and sister, Angie Bogdan. Matt was preceded in death by his parents, William and Anna Bogdan and ten siblings. Family and friends are invited to Matt’s Celebration of Life, with military honors, on Thursday, August 21, 2025, beginning at 6PM at the Abundant Life Community Church, 155 Lenox Ave., Horseheads, NY, 14845.
