Melvin R. Feathers

Melvin R. Feathers, Age 80, of Monkey Run Road, Gillett, PA passed away Saturday, September 13, 2014 at home with his loving family at his side. Melvin was born September 3, 1934 in Sayre son of the late Roger & Bernice (Palmer) Feathers. He attended East Smithfield Schools and was married to the former Joan M. Jennings on September 21, 1962 and would have celebrated 52 years together this Saturday. Melvin was retired from American LaFrance where he worked as an assembler and various positions. He enjoyed hunting in his earlier years camping and could always be found tinkering with some project.
Survivors include his loving wife Joan M. Feathers of Gillett, a daughter Sharon Chrisjohn of Gillett, grandsons, Ryan Landon, Travis Landon great-grandson, Eli Landon all of Elmira, a brother and sister-in-law, Lavere (Barbara) Feathers of Waverly, son-in-law, Tedd Chrisjohn of Horseheads, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Melvin was predeceased by his parents, and his two sisters, June Costello and Marie Dunlap.
Family and friends are invited to call Wednesday, September 17, 2014 from 6 to 8 PM at the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. 279 Main Street, Wellsburg, NY. His funeral service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 8 PM with Rev. Jeffrey Wilkinson Guthrie Hospice Chaplin officiating.
