Nancy E. (Colburn) Tompkins

Nancy E. Tompkins, Age 80, of Thompson Hill Road, Gillett, formerly of Chemung, NY, passed away Wednesday September 4, 2019 at home. She was born November 2, 1938 in Candor, NY daughter of the late Earl & Mary (Evelyn) Colburn. She was a graduate of Spencer High School and was retired from the Chemung County Nursing Facility where she worked for over 25 years. She was a former attendee of the Dry Brook Church and in her spare time collected porcelain dolls, enjoyed word search books, watching the Price Is Right, square dancing and most of all shopping at Wal-Mart.

Surviving are her two daughters, Marla M. Tompkins of Gillett, PA, Michelle L. (Billy) Lohrke of Pine City, NY, her son John E. (Becky) Tompkins of Gillett, PA, a sister, Linda Campbell of Elmira, NY, a brother, Earl Colburn of Newfield, NY, six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and friends, also her canine companions, Mayhem and Spot.

She was predeceased by her parents, husband John J. Tompkins, twin granddaughters, Kimberly & Kayla Tompkins, two great grandchildren, Liam & Allison Riley.

Family and friends are invited to a graveside service at 2:00 PM, on Thursday September 12, 2019 at the Chemung Cemetery, North Street, Chemung, NY, 14825. Arrangements are under the direction of the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. 279 Main Street, Wellsburg, NY 14894.
