WELLSBURG- Paul D. Clark, owner of Paul’s Sales and Service in Wellsburg, NY went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. He was the loving husband of Helen L. (Whitesell) Clark. The couple married August 2, 1958 and had 55 happy years together.
Paul was born on June 8, 1933 in Alfred Station, NY. He is the son of the late Jesse and Lillian (Whitford) Clark. He was a graduate of Andover High School and was a veteran of the US Army. After the Army, Paul worked for Schuyler’s Lumber, Pepsi, and Remington Rand. Paul was owner/operator of Paul’s Sales and Service for nearly 50 years and enjoyed the time he spent with his customers. In high school Paul belonged to the Future Farmers of America and as an adult enjoyed gardening, especially growing tomatoes. He was also a carpenter, building his own home and remodeling several others. Paul enjoyed playing Euchre with his friends and was a NASCAR fan. Paul was Christian by faith, enjoyed Southern Gospel Music, and was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Paul is survived by his wife Helen, his children: Kimberly L. (John) Reilly of Groton, NY, Timothy P. (Valerie) Clark of Gillett, PA, Heather H. Clark of Wellsburg, NY, his grandchildren: John (Sheena) Reilly, Jr., Rebekah Reilly, Michelle Clark, and Dustin Clark, his brother Carl (Reva) Clark of Andover, NY and Roy Halsey, his sister Maxine Averill of Wayland, NY, along with several nieces and nephews. Paul was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends are welcome to call from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm on Friday, June 27, 2014 at Roberts Funeral Home, Inc., 279 Main Street, Wellsburg, NY. The funeral service to honor Paul’s life will be held at the conclusion of the visitation at 2:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor John McConnell officiating. Burial will follow in Ashland Cemetery with military rites given by the US Army Honor Guard and the Chemung County Veterans Honor Guard.
