Reverend James O. Carr, Age 80, of Waverly, NY, formerly of the Hogback Road, Chemung, NY, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, February 8, 2016. Reverend Carr was born in Hammond, NY son of the late Orrin&  Ethel (Tanner) Carr. He graduated high school and then obtained his Masters In Divinity. Jim served many churches during his career. Mannsville, NY, Lorraine, NY Chemung, NY, Hicks, NY, Wellsburg, NY, Lowman, NY Wilawanna, PA, were some of the local churches he served prior to his retirement in 2000 and again in 2012.

Jim also was a gentleman farmer, enjoying his chickens and sharing the eggs he gathered. Jim was also a part time employee at the Roberts Funeral Home where he also served many families that were in need. He was a member of the Chemung United Methodist Church, Endless Mountains Draft Horse Club, enjoyed the outdoors, his farm and his family and many friends.

> Surviving are his wife Dawn Winfield-Carr of Waverly, two sons and daughters-in-law, Russell (Sherry) Carr of Tully, NY, Rodger (Jeannette) Carr of Watertown, NY, a daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia (Greg) Misewicz of Lafayette, NY, step-children, Darlene Kent of Corning, Jamie (Tom) Wujastyk of Erin, NY, Michael Kent of Corning, grandchildren, Zachery Misewicz and Rachel Carr, step-grandchildren, Madeline Kent, Serena Gassner and Natalie Kent, a brother and sister-in-law, Gary (Alfa) Carr of Florida, several nieces, nephews and friends.

Jim was predeceased by his parents, four siblings and his wife Dawn L. (Durant) Carr on June 26, 2010.

Family and friends are invited to call Saturday, February 13, 2016 from 10 to 11 AM at the Chemung United Methodist Church, 703 Main Street, Chemung, NY. Reverend Carr's service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 11:00 AM with his friend Mr. Mark K. Lemmon officiating. Following the service all are invited to a dish to pass luncheon at the church fellowship hall.
