Richard A. Weaver, Age 64, of Wilawana Road, Chemung, NY, passed away Monday, July 28, 2014 at the Troy Hospital. Richard was born September 13, 1949 at Ft. Brag, NC. He served his country during the Vietnam War with the US Marine Corps. from 1968 to 1971. He was married to the former Peggy L. Stoquert and they have celebrated many happy years together. Richard worked for the New York State Department of Corrections and retired November 2013 from Southport Correctional Facility where he worked as a Corrections Officer. He was a member of the Ridgebury Sportsman Club and a past member of the VFW and American Legion. His other interests included hunting, fishing, playing the horses and buggy rides with his grandchildren. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and his six grandchildren.

Survivors include his loving wife Peggy Weaver of Chemung, a son, Charles (Beth) Weaver of Barton, NY, a daughter, Patricia Weaver of Troy, PA, six grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and siblings.
Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, July 31, 2014 from 12 to 2 PM at the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. 279 Main Street, Wellsburg, NY. His funeral service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 2 PM with Rev. Randy Stilson of the Chemung Christian Fellowship Church officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Chemung Cemetery.
