Ronald "Ronnie" W. Hansen

Ronald W. Hansen, Age 78, of Wellsburg, NY passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 3, 2021 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Ronnie as he was affectionately known was born in Elmira on September 25, 1942 son of the late Alf & Clara (Coe) Hansen. He was a graduate of Horseheads Central School. Ronnie was married to the former Josephine “Joie” Page on October 19, 1963 and had celebrated 58 years of marriage. He was retired form Verizon where he worked as a mechanic for many years. Ronnie was a former member of the Wellsburg Volunteer Fire Department and enjoyed fishing, scratch off lottery tickets and trips to Tioga Downs Casino. He would often be seen driving down Main Street with his late canine friend Jeter in the backseat. His kind and gentle ways will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Surviving are his loving wife Josephine (Joie) Hansen of Wellsburg, daughter and son in law, Lisa & Dennis Barney of Beaver Dams, NY, Michael & Deb Hansen of Big Flats, NY, David & Martha Hansen of Elmira, his six grandchildren, Victoria, Stephen, Edward, Hunter, Kyle and Michael, five great grandchildren, a sister and brother in law, Kristen (Mary) & John Burke of Clinton Corners, NY, a brother and sister in law, Hans & Kathy Hansen of Newburgh, NY, several, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Ronnie was predeceased by his parents and his In Laws, Willard & Frances Page.

Abiding with Ronnie’s wishes there will be no calling hours or services. Memorials in his memory may be made to the Chemung County Humane Society, 2435 Route 352, Elmira, NY 14903. Arrangements are under the direction of the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. 279 Main Street, Wellsburg, NY 14894.
