Ruth Daniels

Ruth (Baggerly) Daniels, Age 85, of Sayre, PA, entered the presence of her Savior on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at home. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.

Ruth was born May 6, 1931 in Roseland, NJ daughter of the late Arthur Allen and Pearl (Stiles) Baggerly. She and Charles W. Daniels, Sr. were married May 29, 1948 in Sayre, PA. Ruth devoted her life to her family. Nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with and loving her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had the special ability to make each one feel like they were her favorite. Ruth enjoyed playing cards, bingo, winters in Florida, researching genealogy, photography, knitting, crocheting, collecting buttons, tatting and the annual Baggerly family reunions.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years Charles W. Daniels, Sr. of Sayre, three daughters, Darlene Adams (Edward Inman), Marilyn (Kurt) Shores, Laura (Scott) Shores, three sons, Charles (Connie) Daniels, Jr., Donald (Cheryl) Daniels, Martin (Kimi) Daniels. She will be missed by her 29 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and her faithful companion Star. She is also survived by her siblings, Edna Schultze, Allen Baggerly, Helen White, Ersa Mae Rae, John (Ruth) Baggerly, Paul Baggerly, sisters-in-law, Phyllis Baggerly, Pearl Spinney as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call from 2 to 3 PM Monday, June 20, 2016 at the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. 279 Main Street, Wellsburg, NY. Ruth's funeral and committal service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 3 PM with her nephew Chaplain (Colonel) James White, US Army Retired officiating. Interment will be in Ashland Cemetery, Wellsburg, NY.
