Sherry R. (Shanks) Parsons

Sherry R. (Shanks) Parsons, Age 85, of Elmira passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at Elcor following a lengthy illness. Sherry was born September 9, 1936, in Spokane, WA daughter of the late George & Janet Shanks. Following graduation, she was married to the late Richard Parsons who passed away March 11, 2011. She was formerly employed as a secretary by Elm Chevrolet and later by Corning Medical. She was a member of the Montour Falls Yacht Club for many years and attended the Wellsburg Baptist Church.

Surviving is her sons Mark D. Parsons of Elmira, NY, Richard Scott Parsons of Millerton, PA, grandchildren, Travis, Jarrod, Sarah and Matthew Parsons, brother & sister-in-law, George & Bonnie Shanks of ID, along with nieces nephews and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband Richard Parsons and two brothers Rodney Shanks and Larry Shanks.

In abiding with Sherry’s wishes there will be no services and she will be laid to rest next to her parents in Ashland Cemetery, Wellsburg, NY. Arrangements are under the direction of the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. 279 Main Street, Wellsburg, NY 14894.
