Stephen L. Wintermute

Stephen L. Wintermute, 60, of Gillett, PA passed away on Friday, April 7, 2023 at home. He was the loving husband of Linette R. (Pierce) Wintermute. The couple married August 3, 1985 and had 37 happy years together.

Steve was born on March 17, 1963 in Sayre, PA, son of the late Earl C. and Genevieve A. (Winslow) Wintermute. He was employed by Hilliards in Elmira and was Christian by faith. Steve was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting and fishing, being on his dozer and backhoe, was a competition bench rest shooter and shot winter competition 22 shoots with friends. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be missed by many.

Steve is survived by his wife Linette, his son and daughter-in-law Matthew and Colleen Wintermute of Pine City, NY, “grand dog” Murphy, his siblings: Nancy (John) Lattimer, Beverly (Fred) Smith, Mike (Norine) Wintermute, Dan (Denise) Wintermute and Chris (Rebecca) Wintermute, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Gerald Wintermute, and niece Wendy Lattimer.

A memorial gathering for Steve will be held at a later date. The Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. 279 Main Street Wellsburg, NY has been entrusted with the arrangements.
