Vernor J. Walmsley

Vernor J. Walmsley, Age 90, of Athens, PA formerly of Centerville, PA passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at the Robert Packer Hospital. He was born September 19, 1932, in Towanda, PA son of the late Vernor Leroy & Alma Mae (Smith) Walmsley. He attended area schools and prior to his retirement was employed by Trinity Security as a supervisor. Vernor was an avid NY Yankees fan and loved baseball, watching DVD’s of old movies and enjoyed old country music.

Surviving is his loving sister Mary Novotny of Elmira, NY, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.

He was predeceased by his parents, two sisters, Laura Cooley, Elma Stroud, two brothers, Donald Walmsley and George Walmsley.

Following cremation Vernor will be laid to rest with his parents in Oak Hill Cemetery, Towanda, PA. Arrangements are under the direction of the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc., 279 Main Street, Wellsburg, NY 14894.
