Albert "Bert" Hughson

Albert B. (Bert) Hughson, Jr., Age 57, of Wellsburg, NY passed away on Monday, July 17, 2023, at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Bert was born in Elmira, NY on May 28, 1966, the son of Mary L. (Moore) Hughson and the late Albert B. Hughson, Sr. He was a graduate of the Elmira City Schools and was employed by Hilliard Corporation as a C & C Operator until his health prevented him from no longer continuing working.  Bert also worked part-time at KB Toys and Petco. He was a former member of the Wellsburg Volunteer Fire Department and a former Fire Commissioner. In his spare time Bert enjoyed NASCAR and followed Dale Earnhardt, Danica Patrick, and Chase Elliott. His other interests included slot cars/racing and HO scale trains.

Survivors include his loving mother Mary L. Hughson of Wellsburg, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael (Deborah Dininny) Hughson of Horseheads, Mark (Debra) Hughson of Horseheads, aunts, uncles, several, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Bert was preceded in death by his Father Albert B. Hughson, Sr on February 9, 1983, and his brother Christopher Hughson on March 14, 2007.

Family and friends are invited to call from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM Friday, July 21, 2023, at the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. 279 Main Street, Wellsburg, NY 14894. His service will be at the conclusion of calling hours at 2:00 PM with Pastor R. Paul C. Mattison officiating. Interment will follow in Ashland Cemetery, Wellsburg, NY.
