Anna Belle (Russell) Leonard, beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2024, in Gillett, Pennsylvania. She was born on September 11, 1930, in Syracuse, New York.
Anna Belle dedicated many years of her life working at Westinghouse, then as an English teacher at SRU, and finally as a Real Estate Agent for several area brokers, where she built lasting relationships within the community. In her leisure time, she found joy in various pursuits, including hunting and outdoor activities, playing Bridge, and excelling as an avid bowler, a passion that led her to be honored in the Troy Bowling Hall of Fame. Above all, Anna Belle cherished spending time with her family and friends, creating cherished memories that will be held dear by all who knew her. A faithful member of the Gillett Baptist Church, Anna Belle found solace and community in her faith.
She is survived by her loving children: Duane (Kathleen) Leonard of Checkerville, PA, Holly (Charles) Hofmann of Gillett, and Kevin (Dana) Leonard of Rogersville, TN; as well as 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and siblings Merlin (JoAnn) Russell, Fern Turett, Lew (Joyce) Russell, and Darlene Russell, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Anna Belle is preceded in death by her parents Cecil A. and Grace (Sherman) Russell, her husband Phil E. Leonard, her daughter Rondalyn Ann Leonard, and her sister Wilma O'Hare.
Family and friends are welcome to call from 10:00-11:00 AM on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at the Gillett Baptist Church, 33241 Route 14, Gillett, PA 16925. The memorial service to honor and celebrate Anna Belle's life will be held after the visitation at the church at 11:00 AM on May 11th with Pastor Micky Cavanaugh officiating, followed by burial at 2:00 PM in Glenwood Cemetery, Troy, PA. The Roberts Funeral Home, Inc., located at 279 Main St. in Wellsburg, NY has been trusted with the arrangements.
