Edwin Reese Obituary

Edwin Lee Reese, fondly known as Ed, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2023, at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. He was born on August 17, 1948, in Elmira, NY, making him 75 years old at the time of his passing.

Ed led a fulfilling life, leaving behind cherished memories and a lasting impact on those who knew him. He served his country with pride in the US Army Reserves before embarking on a successful career in Human Resources at Swift Glass.

Outside of work, Ed had a diverse range of interests and talents. He was a passionate ambassador and advocate for collegiate wrestling, always supporting and encouraging young athletes. As a talented musician, he displayed his skills on the organ, delighting audiences with his music. Ed also possessed remarkable woodworking abilities and enjoyed spending time crafting beautiful pieces. When he wasn't busy with his other pursuits, you would often find him on the golf course, enjoying the game he loved.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Vera Mae Ingerick and Ralph Leonard Reese, as well as his brothers James L Reese and Scott A Reese, and his sister Margie Emmick. He was also deeply saddened by the loss of his son Jefferey Lee Reese in 1997.

Ed leaves behind a loving family and numerous friends who will forever cherish his memory. He is survived by his beloved sons, Dain Reese (wife Courtney Daniels Reese) and Michael Reese (wife Lori Reese), as well as their children, Kathryn Reese, Taryn “Bella” Reese, and Hailey Reese. Michael's sons, Mathew Reese and Michael Reese, also deeply mourn his loss. He is also survived by his sister Connie Reese Martin (husband Gregg Martin) and their children, Andy Martin (wife Samantha Martin) and Darcy Martin Rose (husband Hampden Rose), along with multiple grandchildren. Ed's nephews Randy Reese and Mike Reese, and his nieces Cindy Reese, Lynna Reese Walter (husband Robert) and Amanda Phillips, along with their respective families, also grieve his passing. Finally, Ed's beloved girlfriend and soulmate, Libby Baker, mourns his loss deeply.

A memorial service to celebrate Ed's life will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at Roberts Funeral Home, Inc., located at 279 Main St. Wellsburg, NY. Visitation will take place from 3:00-4:00 PM, followed by the memorial service at 4:00 PM. Pastor Michael Capagna will officiate the service.

Edwin Lee Reese, or Ed as many knew him, will be remembered for his kind heart, unwavering support, and the love he showed to those around him. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
