October 17, 1947 ~ November 28, 2022 (age 75) 75 Years Old


Jerrie E. (Turner) Barrett, Age 75, of Roberts Hollow Road, Lowman, NY passed away peacefully on Monday, November 28, 2022, at home with her loving family by her side. Jerrie was born October 17, 1947, in Elmira, NY daughter of the late John & Mildred (Leff) Turner, Sr. She was a graduate of Southside High School and then obtained her degree in Human Resources from Corning Community College. She was retired from Bethany Manor where she worked as a Purchasing Manager. She and Floyd L. Barrett were married August 14, 1965 and enjoyed 57 years together.

Jerrie was a member of St. Mary’s Church and the Chemung Valley Street Rods and enjoyed listening to country music. She was devoted to her loving family and cherished every moment she spent with them. Jerrie and Floyd also spent their time vacationing in Virginia Beach over the years.

Survivors include her loving husband Floyd, a daughter, Jerrilyn M. Barrett, son, Kenneth C. Barrett, two grandchildren, Steven M. Thomas, Sarah (Aaron) Clark, eight great-grandchildren, Cody Hamilton, Christian Thomas, Cadence Thomas, Cole Thomas, Arissa Clark, Sianna Clark, Maximus Clark and Marshall Clark.

Jerrie was predeceased by her parents, a brother, John Turner, Jr., great-grandson Sylas E. Clark.

Memorials in her memory may be made to St. Mary’s Church, 224 Franklin Street, Elmira, NY 14904.

There will be no services at this time. Jerrie’s remains will be entombed in the Columbarium in St. Peter & Paul’s Cemetery, Elmira, NY at the convenience of the family.
