Lena M. (Burt) Buckland

Lena M. (Burt) Buckland, Age 82, of Elmira, formerly of Wellsburg, NY passed away Friday, July 28, 2023, at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center surrounded by close family members and friends. Lena was born May 27, 1941, in Elmira, New York daughter of the late Truman & Reva (Camp) Burt. She was a graduate of Southside High School and retired as a phone operator for Internal Medicine at St. Jospeh’s Hospital. She was a member of the Wellsburg Fire Department Axillary and an avid bingo player, she also enjoyed trips and Traveling with the Sr. Citizens Group that she was a member of. Lena was quick witted and told it like it was and always with a smile, she will be sadly missed by her family and many friends.  

She was predeceased by her parents, five sisters, Nancy L. Robinson, Doris Pallone, Jessie Norgren, Kathleen Liberatore, Eleanor White, her brothers, Judd Burt, Edward Burt and Truman Burt, Jr.

Surviving are her sister Helen Ackerman, of Texas, half brother, James Allen of Pine City, NY, and several nieces and nephews.  

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1 PM to 4 PM, Saturday, September 16, 2023 at the Wellsburg Volunteer Fire Department, 147 Main Street, Wellsburg, NY 14894. Arrangements are under the direction of the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc., 279 Main Street, Wellsburg, New York 14894.
